Our Mission
Redwood Scullers (formerly Stanford Rowing Center) is a community rowing club in the San Francisco Bay Peninsula area. Redwood rows out of the Port of Redwood City near the beautiful waterways around and through Bair Island which is part of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Our mission statement is to establish and conduct a competitive, open rowing program for any high school age youth of the Bay Area Peninsula and to teach the youth sportsmanship, teamwork and life skills.
Safety is number one on Redwoods charter. All of our boats and launches are equipped with safety lights and coaches are trained 20 hours in a launch before they are allowed to go alone.
Redwood is an open club, accepting any and all high school women and men as well as adults. High school athletes or 8th graders are accepted on a maturity basis.
